What Pitchblend Is
pitchblend AI is a desktop application for working with AI on your own computer. It starts and supervises a local Geist workspace, then adds Pitchblend account, license, and optional device-sync controls around it.
Two parts of one application
Most of the workspace you see is owned by Geist. Geist provides Chat, model downloads and selection, files, memory controls, workflows, and its settings pages.
The Pitchblend wrapper owns the desktop window and application lifecycle. It starts and stops Geist, verifies the required Pitchblend controls, and provides account, license, and Memory Sync features.
In a normal installed copy, Pitchblend starts its bundled local components for you and opens the workspace on a loopback address. You do not need to start a server, choose a port, install Python, or use a terminal. Source, attach, and debug modes are developer workflows, not normal setup options.
What you can do
- Download a supported local model and chat with it.
- Use local files as context for a conversation.
- Save or recall memory when you choose to enable it.
- Build simple workflows from the nodes Geist currently supports.
- Use microphone input and spoken responses through a separate voice path that
currently uses an online text agent, plus local or optional online speech
providers. - Pair licensed devices and synchronize eligible profile and folder memories directly between peers.
Pitchblend does not currently provide an end-user plugin marketplace, runtime plugin installation, or smart-home integration catalog.
Local-first does not mean every feature is offline
Local model inference and local workspace data stay on your computer. Network
access is still needed to download application releases, model files, and
first-use speech assets. Sign-in, licensing, optional online Chat providers,
the current online-agent voice path, and device pairing/signaling also contact
their respective services.
Memory Sync is peer-to-peer for application data. The Pitchblend cloud coordinates identity, entitlement, device membership, and bounded connection signaling; it does not store or relay your memory contents. See Local AI and Privacy and Account and Sync Help for the boundaries that apply.
Supported desktop packages
Pitchblend currently publishes packages for Windows x64, macOS on Apple silicon (ARM64), and Linux x64. Other architectures and package formats are not part of the supported release matrix. See Installation and System Requirements before downloading.
A good first path
- Install the supported package for your computer.
- Read First Launch so the startup messages make sense.
- Complete Your First Conversation.
- Use the Interface Tour when you are ready to explore files, memory, workflows, and settings.
