About and System Information

Open Settings, then select About. This read-only page identifies the
desktop product and reports details from the active local Geist service.

Product identity

The top card shows the Pitchblend logo and product name. A product version can
appear beside that name. The line below says Powered by Geist followed by
the Geist service version when it is available.

These can be different values:

  • the product version identifies the Pitchblend desktop release; and
  • the Geist version identifies the embedded local AI service.

When reporting a problem, include both values if both are shown.

This Machine

The This Machine section says Runtime details reported by the active
Geist service.
Depending on what that service reports, it can include:

  • Operating System
  • Architecture
  • Inference Engine
  • Acceleration
  • Python Runtime

Common inference-engine names are displayed as llama.cpp, MLX, or
Transformers. Acceleration appears only when the runtime supplies it.
An unavailable individual value is shown as Not reported.

These fields describe the active Geist runtime, not a complete hardware or
driver inventory. For example, the absence of Acceleration does not by
itself diagnose a graphics-driver problem.

Loading and errors

The section first shows Loading system information.... If the service
request fails, it shows an error notice such as System information failed:
...
.

If only limited data is available, the page says Restart Geist to load
detailed machine and inference information.
Restart Pitchblend normally and
return to About. Preserve the error text and both version values if the problem
continues.

About has no Save Changes, Cancel, or Reset to Defaults buttons
because it is read-only. It does not display model-provider credentials,
license keys, account tokens, or local file contents.

The host-plugin diagnostic list belongs to the conditional Developer tab,
not About and not the normal packaged customer interface. Development-only
surfaces are covered in
Developer and Attach Modes.
